Step 5 - weaving the chain
Now I weave the loops together into a round rope-like pattern. I say "weave," but it's really closer to knitting, each loop hooking through the previous row. In this picture I've put the new loop through one side of the chain and am about to go through the other. I use a scribe (the point of metal showing behind my right thumb) to create a space for each new loop to pass through. Different kinds of chains require both different weaving patterns and different sizes of loops.
